Manuel DeLanda is giving a lecture entitled, ‘Simulated Evolution in Architecture’, in Harris 101 at 6pm on Wednesday 30 March 2011. Born in Mexico City, DeLanda is a writer, artist and philosopher who has lived in New York since 1975.  He is the author of six books, War in the Age of Intelligent Machines (1991), A Thousand Years of Nonlinear History (1997), Intensive Science and Virtual Philosophy (2002), A New Philosophy of Society (2006), Deleuze: History and Science (2010) and Philosophy and Simulation (2011). DeLanda is currently Visiting Professor at USC School of Architecture, and is teaching a seminar course entitled, ‘Theories of Self-Organization and the Dynamics of Cities’.
